The girls started school in person and love it! I totally ugly cried on their first day. It was super emotional! We had been together every day for almost two years and now they were leaving the house without me! We toured the high school, but because of covid, we still have not been inside the elementary school. That is weird to me and we just have to have faith...
Cassidy is at a middle/high school (7thgrade-12thgrade). She was able to test into 8th grade Spanish (gracias, Adri!). She is running Cross Country and playing trombone.
Savannah is doing an afterschool theatre class once a week and playing drums for the elementary band. She has made friends with 4 or 5 other black and brown little girls who aren't even in her class, they are in different 4th grade classes and found each other at lunch and have their own little lunch time club. Adorable.
Both kids have made friends and really like their school! Could be because it is just that wonderful, could be they really missed being in a school the last 18 months or so. Whatever it is, we are grateful and breathing a huge sigh of relief!
