Namaste... Cass said she wanted to do something with movement for her birthday , and after a little bit we came up with a yoga theme! Since her birthday is today, and on a Saturday!, it was a nice to have her party on the actual day. Our original plan to have it at home was quickly redacted and a plan b option took flight the day before. The dance room at evelyn mount community center was huge, had yoga mats, and was sheltered from wind, potential rain, and cold temps. Oh Reno, your unpredictable weather continues to play with our emotions! As we thought about the best way to bring this yoga idea to life, we immediately thought about Rori Lee! Talk about a guru in the making whose spirit is as bright as her smile, Rori teaches yoga regularly for grown ups and kids.  She also teaches silks, plays with fire, walks on stilts, and is just a general all around bada**. Sweet corn on the cob!  Last blog update was November 18. Of last year. A lot has happened in the last 6 months! You may be asking yourself, why has she not been writing on the blog, sharing pictures, and being silly? In answer, all my writing energy had to be funneled elsewhere.... March 16th I defended my dissertation! #PhD2017 is no longer  a hashtag of hope and motivation. It is a reality folks.  Two years of research and writing and analysis boiled down to a 30-minute presentation. It was intense and dare I say...fun. I said it. Fun. No one cares about your research the way your committee does, aside from you that is :-)  So it was nice to talk and discuss and question my little area of interest. It was euphoric when my chair told me Congratulations. Because there was still a small seed of doubt, sprouting roots of what-if? Thank goodness we squashed that plant and moved forward!  The edits have been done. The paperwork has been filed. The fees have been paid.
