Gardening!..Kind of :-)

Last weekend was beautiful! Somehow between being sick, doing homework and grading, and cleaning the house, we found time to stroll down to Great Basin Community Food CoOp for their seedling sale! The girls played with baby goats and chicks while we were there. We purchased purple basil, rosemary, and sunflowers! The sunflowers were only $0.25each. Perfect for our budget!  Once home, we scoured the house for empty containers, paint and stickers.  The boxes we found are cardboard, so we'll re-plant those flowers next month when our budget permits us to get a few better containers. These temporary fixes will be just fine for now :-) We tried to hit up the Garden Shoppe on Moana for some starter soil, but they were out of small bags and the large bags were pretty pricey.  Wal Mart (I know...I know. But we went there anyway!) had the perfect sized bag of organic soil for $2! Done.  The girls had fun painting and potting and watering their sunflowers. Can't wait to see

In that way kids have when you have to question, did she really just say that? In particular with words you don't want her to repeat! 5 Years Old

Cassidy Grace Smith 5 Years Old Unbelievable! Cassidy will be a kindergartener at Mt. Rose Elementary next year. I cannot begin to understand how fast the time has gone! Five years ago today, it was closing day at Sierra Hall and we were rushing out the door; me in labor and Matt yelling last minute closing procedures to his staff. Now our "baby" can do simple math, recite the alphabet, almost play twinkle twinkle little star on the piano, and is a few weeks off from being able to swim on her own. She also pouts, whines, is super sensitive, and gets very jealous of her little sister. But she is a fabulous big sister and pretty patient with Savvy, even when she doesn't want to be. Her party last Saturday was cold and fun! Her friends from her preK class came and a few others to create the most multi-cultural birthday party I'm sure Reno has ever seen. They ran around the park, sweaters and hats and jackets haphazardly thrown over benches and swings as their en
