At the park

Nothing we like better than a great morning at Idelwild Park! Their kids area is my favorite in our community. Well planned, lots of jungle gyms, easy parking! Many thanks to Vanessa for capturing our girls at play. Billie Skye and Cassidy are fast friends who sometimes look at one another and crack themselves up while other times play on opposit ends of the slides...but they know the other is right there! Cassidy is my little climber. She looks at structures from every angle, her little head at an angle as she envisions the best way to climb over, around, or through. Fearless. And she falls often! Picks herself right back up to continue the adventure.

Eating Our Veggies

Cassidy loves veggies, but not all the time. So when she is in a picky mood I make her something that has veggies hidden in it! Such as this quiche that she is chowing while watching Saturday morning cartoons. This particular one is super easy: 1 pre-made frozen pie crust- thawed 3-4 large eggs 1/2 cup or so diced ham 1/2 cup or so whatever veggies you have- this one is green beans 1/2 cup milk (2%, whole, soy, whatever) 1/2 cup shredded cheese some salt and pepper Poke holes in the pie crust then cook at 350 degrees for about 12 minutes or until it's done. Pull pie crust out. Mix all ingredients together. Works best if you mix the eggs first real good, then add everything else. Pour into pie crust and bake for about 50 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. And done! So easy :-)

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year from the Smiths! All is well for Team Smith, and we've had a great holiday season with family and friends. Cass got to hang out with her Smith grandparents for Christmas, and Christie and Billy for New Year's. Cass will be 20 months old next week, and has been saying more and more words, like 'bless you' when someone sneezes, and 'please read' (she loves books). She's dancing up a storm, as usual, potty training, and she's all geared up for the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl in San Francisco, Nevada vs. Boston College, this Sunday - see her spirit video via the link below: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z401bm-E7C0 Cass has also been quick to point out any picture or text(!) about Santa Claus - we were in the grocery store this weekend, and Cass excitedly pointed out Santa once again (this time it was 'Santitas' tortilla chips). Could she be a REALLY early reader? :) We hope everyone has had an auspicious start to the New Year! Peace and

Christmas with the Smiths

"Oh wow!" was Cassidy' response to each present she opened. It was awfully cute! Great weather allowed us to head to Kitty's for the day too.
