Before getting to MHS Weekend, a quick photo of Savvy playing percussion for the fall music show at her school. All those lessons from Kyle Zive really did build a great foundation! Thanks, Kyle!
Right before MHS Weekend, Cass was selected and trained to be an ambassador. So proud of this kid! Look at her with her name tag and building keys!! <3
A Student Affairs kid through and through!
My baby has business cards! Oh, my heart <3
MHS Weekend began with tours, and a lovely reception with fancy cheeses.
Day 2 we attended all of Cassidy's classes. First up: American History. Great mini lecture with a postcard exercise I might try with my class next year. I do a version of it, but it's not a game, and I really liked the way they did this one.
Dr. Emily's poetry class is phenomenal. We listened to apiece by one of the author's of a text and wrote our own poems too.
When was the last time I used a protractor? I don't know, but the satisfaction felt during geometry in solving a math problem was so great!
Robotics was really cool. Cass said lots of words I still don't know as she explained what she was building and coding.
In chemistry, we did an experiment and got messy. Learning IS fun when the teacher is this creative.
After lunch, it was time for all the sports! We only attended volleyball, all of the others sports were happening at the same time. It's year 2 for Cass being on varsity, She has a goal of playing varsity all 4 years. She puts in extra time during practice and at home.
Cassidy continues to really thrive at MHS. Moving to Pittsfield and all of our daily checkins to figure out commuting and scheduling is totally worth the smile on her face, the ease in her spirit at feeling like she belongs, and the incredible curriculum she gets to learn.
