A surprise sunny weekend led to road trips all over the Olympics this weekend. We drove out to Quilcine to see a used camper. I proclaimed two years ago that I was done sleeping on the ground because it hurts! Then last year, I said I was done setting up tents in the rain. Fingers crossed we'll find just the right used camper for this upcoming summer ;-)
While I'm not sure if we'll be buying this one, I am sure it was a gorgeous drive! A highlight: HoodSport Coffee and ice cream.
On Sunday we joined friends Sam, Natalie and Nora on a canoe adventure to Hope Island. They were gracious and lent us a canoe, paddles, and extra life vests. Plus, they knew the area so well and we just hopped along for the ride! The island has an orchard, so we picked apples and ate them as we walked the trails through the forest. We saw only a handful of people on the beaches. Two seal sightings and lots of jellyfish made for quite the adventure!
There is something soothing about watching the kids play in the dirt and water for hours. They have such imaginations and are capable of amusing themselves with sticks, rocks, and crab shells.
