Riding a Bike!

The year of the 5 year-old is kind of a big deal.  Three real practice sessions, and two training wheels and bike pedals removed made for a huge success in the Team Smith house hold!  Once Matt put the pedals back on, Cass was flying down our street! PS, we got this awesome used bike from the Kiwanis Bike Project for $10. They threw in the basket for free.

1st Day of Kindergarten!

How is Cassidy in kindergarten already? A month or so ago when she did her first assessment for the Spanish immersion program, we sat in the lobby while she "played" with her future teacher and a few classmates. A mom sitting across from me asked if this was our first. As I nodded and said yes, the tears started. Uncontrollable and swift, I sobbed. I campaigned heavily for them to come to Reno, but their perception of how much snow we get won out. No worries, grandma and grandpa have plenty of space for us to visit them! I was freaking out about the bunk beds in their room,  but it was pretty perfect and the girls did fine.  Cass and Savvy were way excited to discover the treasures located in a purple, owl covered trunk. Dolls and toys abound! And all of that shall stay at their house for the next visit ;-) We were lucky to visit with some friends while in town! It was a super quick trip with the purpose of attending a wedding on Saturday night. I'm really happy we got to see Che, Stephen and Terri and finally ...
