Well this post is long overdue!
....we had put in offers on seven houses. We were outbid on 5. Our first offer to get accepted came back with a horrid inspection and the seller wouldn't fix anything. So we walked. The second house was beautiful, and we got to pick out the finishings. Two weeks to go till closing, Dr. Smith surprised us by coming home earlier than planned! Well, underwriters don't like to see when you have left a job mid-close no matter what's in your savings account, your contract end date, your high credit score, your great references, nope. So no house. But a blessing in disguise nonetheless as things happen when they are supposed to. God has a plan. I don't know what that plan is as He doesn't always share immediately! But I have faith the right house is out there. And who knows, maybe we will just need to build it! Now that could be fun! Focus on having a small house with lots of land and sustainable features! We will take the next several years to plan and research I think. In the meantime, Matt is home and really, nothing is better than that :-)
I tried to take pictures of his surprise arrival. As you can imagine, I was an excited mess watching a surprised Cassidy race to greet him at the door. Huge thanks and gratitude to Uncle Peter for driving across the country, the Wilmarth Tynas for housing him, the Richmers for housing us here, and anyone else who aided in our transition. We can't say thank you enough. THANK YOU! merci. gracias. (hand from mouth in sign language)
