5 Months Old!

Cassidy is 5 months old! She is teething. Unfortunately for her and us, her first tooth looks like is will be a molar. In general she is still quite a happy baby, but there have been a few rough nights. Hopefully those teeth will make an appearance soon! The chair featured in these snapshots was painted by her Aunt Kitty. It took me a couple weeks to get it....read the writing, then think about what kind of chair it is, and you'll probably understand quicker than I did!

4 Months Old...

My baby is 4 months old! Cassidy took her shots last week like a champ! There’s no stopping her :) She is definitely cutting a tooth on the top. When I run my finger along her gums to bring her relief, I can feel the sharp point of it. It recedes, then protrudes, then disappears only to surface again a day later. The human body is fascinating. Cassie can almost support herself sitting up and has complete head control. She babbles much to the delight of her parents.

The Weekends

The weekends have a new meaning to me now.  Saturdays are the perfect day because I get unlimited access to Cassidy. During the week I have to share my time between work, chores, tasks, and more. Sunday we have church and prep time for the week. But Saturday is magical. Saturday is for adventures in the park and incredible views in the mountains you can only reach by foot. Saturdays are for sleeping in or getting up early and making a big breakfast. Saturdays we sometimes stay in our pajamas, and others times we get all dressed up for no reason. On this particular Saturday Cassidy and I met up with some friends at church for the first End of Summer Fair. We had a good time...

3 Months Old!

Holding Her Head High

Cassidy will be 3 months old tomorrow! Today she is 13 weeks. She can smile, roll side to side, roll all the way over when she's in fussy mode, and hold her head up!  She gurgles and coos quite often. I'm quite sure she comprehends more conversation and gestures than I give her credit for. There's just something in the quirk of her right eyebrow, or lift of her left hand that tells me she is biding her time when she can grasp the gift of language...

Mama & Me

Sometimes we gals just like to lounge around on our couch!

Sleeping and Baking

Cassidy was my lil helper as I made cupcakes using Paula Dean's recipe and Betty Crocker's frosting. She would sit and wriggle around, I would sing and dance. She would smile and drool, I would measure, mix, and pour. Everything was going just fine...until I turned around and found my darling girl sound asleep!  She was sleeping so soundly, I finished the cupcakes, let them cool, frosted them, cleaned the kitchen, and gave myself a pedicure before she woke up!
