Peep them leaves!

 I had never heard the term leaf peeper before till we moved here. I don't think we took full advantage of all the leaf peeping available to us out here in north county. We corrected that this year! Our plans to camp this weekend changed as Savvy's team did great in a soccer tournament. They won 2 games on saturday, lost in semi finals on sunday. The backdrop of gorgeous falling leaves made the loss bearable...or the team donuts?  We had a bonfire and watched the full moon rise over the trees in our backyard. And listened to the spooked podcast. Then some nature like sounds had Savvy running into the house. The podcast was quite good! 😂 We got up super early, made banana bread, then drove and hiked through Pittsfield State Forest. Another great spot only 30 minutes away! It's definitely going on our campinh list for summer 2023.  There are quite a few walking trails even closer to our house we often drive by but never visit. That changed! How is it almost October?

 If you look up the phrase necessary evil I am most certain there will be a tiktok about facebook. And right under it will be an Amazon instagram post. Several months ago my screentime reports were high for me. And I needed a break from scrolling and updates and tags and comments. I just stopped checking. Like a mini detox, the urge to check my phone slowly ebbed away, making room and space for other things. Being more present became a reality, not just a pinterest meme. I missed it though. There are friends and family who I am only connected to through status updates and photos. I love them dearly and feel very disconnected from what is happening in their lives. Living where we live, news about road closures and construction, school activities and parent groups, schedule changes, business hours!, are all on facebook. It is THE communication tool out here.
