In the Spring semester of my freshmen year of undergrad I was a photomajor in the JSchool. It was one semester of awesomeness. I was about to join some of my classmates and the photo professor on a trip to a conference, when I realized there was no way I could afford the major! The chemicals and supplies were not only expensive, they were not allowed to be stored in the dorms. Instead of talking to someone and seeking out help, I switched my emphasis to print. And I loved it. However, my heart was never fully in it, the way it was that one semester. Fast forward several years and many disposable cameras later to the purchase of my first real digital slr...HEAVEN in the package of a pentax K20D. I named her Penny. Penny and I had many grand adventures. Even a brief professional stint to help pay the bills for about 2 years. During that time I learned I do not like taking pictures of people as a profession. They are unpredictable and there is great pressure to not have a flashdrive cra...

Panaderia Azteca is not but 5 joyful minutes down the street from us! Why did it take us so long to visit?  I will become a frequent flyer I am sure. Such deliciousness is baked with love every day. And so affordable! Even Cassidy, the girl who does not like sugar on most days and will not lick frosting off a cupcake, found a plain donut to enjoy.  Coming back from our overnight date in Placerville, CA we stopped at Apple Hill. We picked up all sorts of goodies, including this lovely little apple peeler/corer. You can use any fruit or vegetable really that fits. We have tried pears and potatoes so far. Such joy on the girls' faces as they each took turns cranking an apple and watching the spirals. Someone finally got to wear her leopard print vest from Aunt Kitty. It is cold enough now. And that is a joyful thing as we need the snow and rain!  The Monsterfish exhibit at the museum starts this Friday! Here is a wee ...

I have been planning Matt's bday since June! I found a Bed&Breakfast in Placerville called the Eden Vale Inn.   It was pretty incredible. Our friend J-Lynn took the girls for the night so we can spend one night away. Huge thank you to J-Lynn, as she already has four kids. She not only took everyone to a museum in Carson and church, but she did drop off to different schools Monday morning. She is fantastic!! So we left after our own church service Sunday morning and then came home the next day.  It is quite possible that Mr. Smith may post his thoughts on turning 35 himself...probably not likely though! So enjoy the pics :-) Found a delectable restaurant 5 minutes away in Lotus, CA.
