Happy Baby Video Contest and other news...

So we buy a good chunk of Cass' "quick eats" from a brand called Happy Baby. Fun snacks and quick dinners that are organic and have ingredients you can read and recognize make for easy days when Matt and I are both too tired to cook :-)

Anyway, the company is having a contest on FB and you post a video of your baby being happy and then get your friends and fam to vote for the video. You don't have to sign up for anything, and it is quite fun to look at other videos. Some are funny, some are not!

The video we posted is of Cass getting ready to eat salmon sticks- the fish stick's newer improved brother from happy baby. It's called Happy Eater. Sorry- I don't mean to sound like an ad!
Feel free to check it out and go to their FB page to vote! Or feel free to check it out for fun :)

In other news, Cassidy will be 2 this May 13th. It's a Friday, so it is a lucky day now! Cass loves to sing Old McDonald, Where is Thumbkin, Row Row Row Your Boat, ABCs, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, and If You're Happy and You Know It. She can count to 13 in English and Spanish. She is a big help around the house, putting her toys and shoes away. She knows almost all of her colors and shapes. And thanks to her favorite cartoon Go Diego, she knows way more animals than I did when I was little. If you talk to her on the phone don't be surprised to hear her tell you a story interspersed with the words puma, puppy, walrus, and peacock. Sometimes she forgets the first part of that last animal; earning us disturbed looks from others in line at the grocery store.

The pics above are from Valentine's Day. One of Cass' hand me down toys is a steering wheel that has a horn, key and ignition and a cell phone. It's cute, not too loud, and probably irresponsible in its promotion of talking and driving. I'm not going to be the one to take it away from her though...

Dancing

Cassidy loves to dance. So far, any type of music gets her going! In this video we were cleaning the kitchen when she decided to break out. When she saw the camera she started saying cheese because she thought it was a real camera. I hope you can see it!

After you clean your room...

This evening Cassidy revealed to me a small secret to keeping her occupied. After dinner she asked me if she could watch a show. We don't have tv, but we do have netflix through the wii on our tv and we watch all the greatness that PBS and Nickelodian have to offer! Except for Caillou because I think he's kind of whiny. Anyway, she gets to watch limited amounts of Diego, Dora, Dinosaur Train, Super Why, Word World, etc and sometimes we throw in some Cosby Show for good measure. She'll pick two shows and watch one, 20 minute episode of each and then we call it good. Well tonight when she asked for a show, I told her she could watch one episode of her favorite after she cleaned her room. She went into her room and as she started putting toys away, she started playing with them. She'd go to put books away and start "reading" them. Twenty minutes later she'd start putting crayons away, then start drawing with them. Ten minutes later she'd start putting awa...

J’s Birthday Fun! Yay 43!

For the first time in YEARS I worked on my birthday. Y'all know I take that day off! But, I had to be a grown up and a professional and show up to be part of a team of problem solvers for some stuff. So, it was fine. This is me in my office :-) When I got home, I read a book with a cup of tea! And opened presents :-) Savvy is super talented at card making. I don't know what youtube channel she watches, but her cards are always incredibly beautiful and 3D. We hit up the new Amazin Pho spot down the street. Yes, it was amazing. And we went to the Norman Rockwell museum for this exhibit. Fantastic! It is worth checking out the work online. During covid times, the artist would paint one woman a day. So many stories of everyday people doing incredible things. So much history! The mix of historical people and present day living people is inspiring.  I had a couple subpar milk frothers die on me. Because I was being frugal and thought they would last. So I got an upgrade! Way better t...
